My Last Week at Texas A and M

Well guys, hope you all had fun in the last week at your host institutions. As much as am looking forward to going home, am also sad to leave this place as this too has been home to me - the people whom I have befriended have been extremely wonderful and helpful. Its amazing how down to earth, caring and simple Americans are; yet we tend to have a different view of what we watch on tv. My experience here has certainly been worth every dollar and the knowledge and understanding has given me a good perspective of how similar and in some way different SA librarians are from the Americans. In many ways I feel we librarians are doing much more with our limited technology than our American counterparts. Nevertheless, there are important bits of knowledge that we can use to change the way we do things and work more productively, especially in our outreach programmes.

I spent most of today completing my shopping (now both my bags have reached the required weight limit), and yes, I came with one bag and going with two. I have lots of toys for my 2 boys whom I have missed dearly, so this will make up I hope ; and some little gifts for friends and family and something special for my wife...I shall drop by the office on Monday morning to say my last goodbye's and then be whisked to the airport...see you all in Tuscon for our final week of get together...
